Munro Doctrine

Fountain Valley Library is a small library designed by someone who obviously was determined to give it a funky modern look so it can stand out in this drab suburbia.

And reading Alice Munro in that library is hard to top. The prose and storytelling skill of Munro, the Canadian literary goddess (to me anyway), often provides the chilling sensation one can surely enjoy on a hot summer-like day.

What is even more spectacular is sitting inside an air-conditioned library and reading a short story written by Alice Munro about a failed romance between a librarian and a soldier.
