This image was created with two freebie graphics software: Paint.NET and Pixia. Paint.NET provided the background colors and shapes; the words, "Sun" and "Fun", were added on with Pixia's unique paint brushes.
The relatively new Paint.NET started out as a project at Washington State University with the goal of enhancing the rudimentary Paint program that comes with Microsoft operation system. Over the weekend, a new version was released, but it still has a major bug -- the .jpg images created with Paint.NET cannot be opened in GIMP, my favorite open-source graphics software. (UPDATE 5/9/05: it seems that the bug has been fixed by the GIMP dev team; the new GIMP version 2.2.7 has no problem displaying .jpg images created with Paint.NET.)
